This one is stuffed with a premium high loft polyester filling that makes it ultra soft and comfortable for your dog. The filling is also hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly. You can wash the slipcover by removing it and throwing it in the washing machine on gentle cycle.
The removable slipcover on this bed is made of cotton and polyester and has a super soft faux sheepskin texture. Choose from three different sizes and seven different colors. Whether you choose solid marine green or pink and white links, your dog will enjoy the same comfortable rest on the premium high loft polyester filling.
Sometimes convenience is just as important as style, and this pillow has both. There’s no slipcover or removable zip cover included because this pillow is safe to throw in the washing machine, stuffing and all. You’ll need to use an oversized washing machine and set the machine to gentle cycle.
Takeaways
- Comes in 43 different colors and patterns.

5. Plush Head Pillow
Most dog pillows are really large dog beds because they are made for dogs to lay their whole bodies on. This is a pillow, in the human sense of the word, because it’s made for your dog to rest only its head on (you can use it, too). The adorable design looks like a plush toy, but it’s actually a well-crafted and perfectly designed headrest. Choose from seven different cute doggy designs, some wearing little dog shirts.
These head pillows are made with a soft plush fabric and filled with premium polyester and double core fiber filling. It is hypoallergenic and machine washable. You can decide whether to get your dog a straight pillow that she can hug or a curved one that gives her a little hug.
Takeaways
- Adorable plush character design.
- Straight or curved design.
- Gives dogs a headrest.
- Soft plush exterior.
6. OrthoComfort Deep Dish Cuddler
While a flat laying pillow can be excellent for a dog to stretch out its limbs, sometimes the protective walls of a dish-shaped bed can be very comforting. The Deep Dish Cuddler provides the best of both worlds because the walls are built to be more flexible than a traditional dog bed. Your dog can rest in the middle or fold over the sides and sprawl out.
Designed specifically for smaller dogs, the Cuddler is made of the coziest deep-pile Sherpa fabric. It’s also stuffed with virgin AirLOFT fibers that are superior in quality to the second-hand fibers used in a lot of other dog beds. The back of the dog bed is 15 inches high while the front is a shorter nine inches. Your dog can decide whether to cuddle or sprawl.
Takeaways
- Flexible design can be used many different ways.
- Available in 16 attractive colors.
- Non-toxic materials.
- Stuffed with virgin AirLOFT fibers.
What kind of pillow your dog prefers is something that you usually can’t predict ahead of time. That being said, certain pillows are designed so well that you really can’t go wrong. No dog could complain about the orthopedic memory foam pillow from Dogbed4less. This one is our favorite on the list because it’s comfortable for all dogs, made of premium materials and easy to keep clean.
Memory foam supports varying weights and conforms to a dog’s specific sleeping position. The memory foam is even better than a flat mattress because it’s shredded to promote airflow. Another thing I love about this bed is that it has two lining covers. The first waterproof cover secures the stuffing while the outer cover provides a layer of softness.
Buying Guide
Your dog is a part of the family, and though she may not have her own room, her sleeping area is like her little corner of the house. Providing a cozy pillow for your dog to sleep on can give your dog her own space to relax after a long day of playing. A quality pillow can also help an elderly or injured dog to enjoy some therapeutic relief for aching joints.
Purchasing a new pillow is not all about the dog, though. It’s also about keeping your house clean and organized. While I love that my dog has a comfortable pillow to rest on, I also love that his dog hair and dirty paws aren’t getting on my furniture while he’s resting. A dog pillow helps to set boundaries for where a dog is allowed to kick back and chew on things in the house.
What to Look For
The right product needs to be the correct size for your dog, comfortable and easy to clean. You may also want to consider the color and pattern if matching the pillow to your home decor is important to you. Like everything we give our dogs, a bed or pillow should also be made of nontoxic materials.
Shopping For A Comfortable Pillow
If you’re like me, you order things online and pay close attention to the product descriptions and reviews. But how can you tell if it’s comfortable if it’s not right there for you to touch? Here are some fillings I look for:
- High loft fill
- Overstuffed fill
- Memory foam fill
- Virgin fiber fill
Chances are if you don’t see any of those things in the item description, the pillow is going to be comfortable for a few days and then become as flat as an airplane pillow in coach. The filling that is inside a pillow is really the most important thing about the pillow because it’s providing the cushion.
If you’ve found a pillow with a great filling, you may also want to look at what the external cover is made out of. A nice faux suede or Sherpa cover can provide an extra layer of cushion and a soft texture that dogs love. I would also consider the fabric’s breathability because a breathable fabric will help a dog to stay cool in hot weather. For cold weather and winter, you might want to look into heated dog beds instead.
Last but not least, I check the product reviews to see if there are pictures of actual customers’ dogs sleeping on the pillow. It’s really hard to fake a photo of a happy sleeping dog. When I see a lot of those pictures, I know that the pillow worked out for a lot of dogs, so there’s a good chance my dog will like the pillow too.
Shopping For An Easy-Clean Pillow
A pillow that is easy to clean is a win-win for you and your dog. Your house will smell fresher and your dog will be healthier when a pillow is washed regularly. If you have a pillow that is a huge hassle to clean, it may not end up getting washed as much as it should. Here are some things to look for when shopping for an easy-clean pillow:
- Removable cover
- Machine washable
- Stain proof cover
- Waterproof lining
- Two layers of cover
- Good airflow
Although there are some pillows that can be thrown into the washing machine filling and all, I would choose one with a removable cover instead. When you can take the cover off and wash it, you won’t need to use an extra large washing machine and the cover can be dried just like your sheets.
An extra waterproof lining underneath the external cover is another feature that I would look for in an easy-clean dog pillow. Any feature that promotes airflow and cuts down on moisture buildup is going to help the pillow to stay fresh and clean for longer.
Caring for Your Dog Pillow
Even the best pillow won’t stay as nice as the day you bought it if it’s not cared for properly. I’ve heard from countless dog owners that the best way to keep a pillow like new is to fluff it out every few days. You can hand fluff your dog’s pillow to break up the filling and create a higher loft, or you can throw the pillow in a dryer with some tennis balls to do the same thing. Just make sure you check the care instructions first.
